Dextrata Software Inc.
Acceptable Use & Code of Conduct
Effective: 29 September 2026 · Version 1.0
Dusk Lord is a world where players hold land, trade hard and march on each other. Rivalry, sieges and sharp bargains are part of the game. Harassment, cheating and attacks on the servers are not. This Code is part of the Terms of Service, and breaking it can cost you your account.
1.Where it applies
Everywhere in the Service: chat and whispers, in-game mail, the forum, the Ideas board, usernames and character, guild and settlement names, anything you send to our servers, and your emails to us. Conduct elsewhere may count where it threatens the safety of our players or the integrity of the game.
2.How you treat other people
Not allowed:
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, or sustained targeting of another player;
- Hate speech, slurs, or attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability or any other protected characteristic;
- Threats of violence, incitement, glorifying terrorism or violent extremism, or encouraging anyone to harm themselves;
- Any sexual content involving minors — we report it to the authorities and close the account;
- Sexually explicit content, or sexual advances toward anyone who has not welcomed them or who is or appears to be a minor;
- Doxxing — sharing anyone's real name, address, workplace, phone number, photos or other private information without their consent;
- Impersonating another player, a Dextrata employee or moderator, or any real person or organisation;
- Spam, flooding, advertising, phishing, or links to scams or malware;
- Arranging anything illegal.
Allowed, and expected: competing hard, raiding, besieging, taking territory, driving a hard bargain, making and breaking alliances in the game, and in-character trash talk that stays about the game and civil toward the person.
If someone bothers you in chat, you can type /ignore and their name to stop seeing their messages, and report them under Section 6.
3.Names
Usernames and character, guild and settlement names must not contain slurs, sexual content, hate symbols or references, anyone's personal information, anything suggesting official status (such as "admin", "GM", "mod" or "Dextrata"), advertising, or spelling tricks meant to get past the word filter. We may rename or remove a name that breaks this without notice.
4.Fair play
Not allowed:
- Cheats, trainers, injectors, memory editors, packet tools, modified or unofficial clients, emulators or private servers;
- Bots, macros and scripts that play for you, including unattended gathering or farming;
- Exploiting a bug, glitch or duplication instead of reporting it. Found one? Tell us at [email protected]. Using it, or telling others how, is a breach;
- Sharing, selling or buying accounts, or playing someone else's account;
- Real-money trading — exchanging accounts, gold, items or settlements for real money or anything of real-world value, in or out of the game;
- Using extra accounts to gain an unfair advantage or to get around enforcement;
- Deliberately abusing a game system in a way that damages the economy, the world, or other players' ability to play.
Exploited gains can be taken back. Gold, items, levels or settlement progress gained from an exploit, bug, duplication or bot may be removed or rolled back, along with anything that cannot be cleanly separated from it, without refund or compensation.
5.How you treat the servers
Do not try to overload, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the Service: no denial-of-service or flooding, no getting around sign-in, rate limits or access controls, no accessing another player's account, no scanning or probing our servers, no scraping, and no reverse engineering beyond what the law expressly allows. If you find a security problem, report it privately to [email protected] with a subject line starting SECURITY — and give us a reasonable time to fix it before telling anyone else.
6.Reporting
Report a breach to [email protected] with a subject line starting CONDUCT REPORT —. Include the player's name, roughly when it happened (with your time zone), and a screenshot if you have one. Chat is not stored on our servers, so a screenshot is often the only record. We keep reports as confidential as we reasonably can, but may need to use their substance to act.
Knowingly false, retaliatory or mass reports are themselves a breach.
If someone's life or safety is at risk, or a child is being exploited, contact your local police or emergency services first, then us, marked URGENT.
7.Enforcement
Depending on how serious the breach is, the history and the intent, we may: warn you; rename a character, guild or settlement; remove content; take back items, gold or progress; restrict features; suspend an account; or close it permanently, along with linked accounts.
Some breaches can lead straight to permanent closure without warning: sexual content involving minors, credible threats of violence, doxxing, unauthorised access to our systems or other players' accounts, payment fraud, and large-scale exploiting, botting or real-money trading.
We may act on a good-faith belief that a breach happened. We do not have to reveal how we detected it, give notice first, or act the same way in every case. Enforcement does not entitle you to a refund or compensation, except where the law requires otherwise.
8.Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, email [email protected] with a subject line starting APPEAL — within 30 days. Give your username, what happened and why you think it was a mistake. A person reviews every appeal against a permanent closure. We aim to answer within 14 days, and the result of the appeal is final.
9.Changes
We may update this Code as the game and its community change; the current version always applies. Questions: [email protected].
